Salvia Azurea , also known as Blue Sage , is a well-known and widely used remedy among the indigenous peoples of Central America, especially in shamanism. It is included in purification ceremonies, where the spicy plants are allowed to smolder, releasing their sacred smoke.

It is said to induce visions and drive away negative energy and unwanted beings. Scientific studies have even shown that 94% of the bacteria in a room are broken down after burning this herb.

Blue Sage is a cleansing method that can also change your state of consciousness. It is made from the plant Artemisia tridentata , which grows on the coast of Mexico and California.

Blue Sage differs from White Sage in the scent released when burned. White Sage has a sharp and very penetrating scent, which can best be described as spicy. Not everyone finds this scent pleasant, and it is therefore used more functionally than as a home fragrance. Blue Sage, on the other hand, has an aroma reminiscent of lavender.

Blue Sage is also known as Granny Sage . When the leaves are dry, they can be burned. Typically, they are tied together in bundles, making them easy to ignite. Once the top of the bundle is lit, the smoke can be fanned with a feather and spread the sacred smoke over objects, people, and into the corners of the room.

Always start by cleansing yourself first, you do this by spreading the smoke around your face, also the rest of your body. Then all rooms, i.e. all door frames, and window frames and all other places where there is an entrance to the home. And then say something like:

'Only light, love and spirituality are welcome here'

and it is done in every room. Once you have done it the first time, it is just a matter of keeping it up. It can be anything from once a week to once a month depending on what you feel like.

If your smudge goes out, just turn it back on and continue, don't leave it on a flammable surface afterwards, use it with care and don't let children use it.
